Fixed pairs, round-robin — you and your partner face every other team exactly once.
Team Americano is for players who want to stay with the same partner all tournament. You set up fixed teams (player 1 + player 2 = Team 1, and so on), and only the opposing team changes each round — never your own partner.
Under the hood it’s the same 1-factorization rotation logic as individual Americano, just run on team indices instead of player indices: a round-robin circle method guarantees every team faces every other team exactly once (or up to a round cap you set), with an invisible "ghost" team padding an odd team count.
If there are more team matchups in a round than you have courts for, the surplus matchup sits out, with byes balanced across teams so nobody rests twice before everyone else has rested once.
Regular doubles partners, couples, and club leagues where the pairing itself matters — 4+ teams (8+ players) on 1+ courts.
Four teams (8 players), 2 courts: round 1 is Team A vs Team B on court 1 and Team C vs Team D on court 2. Round 2 is Team A vs Team C and Team B vs Team D; round 3 is Team A vs Team D and Team B vs Team C. After 3 rounds every team has played every other team once, and whichever team has the highest combined points wins.
Add your players, pick your courts and points, and Padelay builds the schedule instantly — free, no sign-up.
Play Team Americano →No — that’s the whole point of the format. Your team is fixed at setup; only who you’re playing against changes each round.
Every team plays every other team exactly once, which takes (number of teams rounded up to even) minus 1 rounds.
By combined points: each team’s total is the sum of both partners’ individual points across every round. The highest combined total wins.
